“And God said , Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying , Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed” (Genesis 1:26-2:25).
The original text of the point that we are covering was given as appears below for several days and in reviewing and commenting on it in the last essay we discovered that it was not quite so clear as we would want it to be. It is corrected in the next bullet point below.
-
Next we have the creation of the woman who was, according to the text, already created with the man during the creation in the image of God. Again this is either repetition and explanation or it yet another step in the bringing forth of the spiritual man into the Earth. There is another rather obscure saying in Genesis which may go well here: “And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose” (Genesis 6:1-2).
-
Amended statement: First, we should rephrase this as it is technically not right and this is the first that we have actually reread this point with earnest. The woman is created in the same time as the man from the perspective of the way it is written for us when God says: “Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind” (Genesis 1:24). This is the creation of ALL animal bodies and the human man and the human woman are among these. In the next verses we come to the Creation of man “in the image of God” and this we recognize as the manifestation of Spirit as Souls in the Kingdom of God where there are no sexes and this we will try to make clearer as we proceed. Our text for today is concerned with these verses which we place here again for clarity and we will say much here that is alien to the common understanding….even more so that what we have been writing.
For clarity, we add again the verses that we were addressing in the last post and which we continue with in this one:
“And the LORD God said It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man” (Genesis 2:18-22).
From the perspective of men and women in form the ideas that we have set forth in the last post are likely difficult to accept as ALL that one Truly KNOWS in this Life on Earth is the reality of the sexes and the roles played by each. We have however been on this same page for the entirety of our essays in this blog and this in our saying that the True man IS NOT this body nor this personality but he is the divine being, the Soul, the Christ and the God Within. This, taken with the ideas that the role of sexes and of propagation are a reality ONLY in physical manifestation, should give us the ready KNOWLEDGE to properly understand our own realities in Life and in the Kingdom of God of which the Master says: “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21). While much of the commentary, interpretation and teaching on this most profound saying by Jesus seeks to discount the reality and the Truth, the literal understanding of this is one of the great keys to our spiritual revelation. The Kingdom of God is a realization and NOT a place; it is a realization that one has through focus upon the things of God over focus upon the things of the world and it grows in us as the Master tells us in a parable saying “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying , The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof” (Matthew 13:31-32). In this parable we get the vision of the Kingdom as the seed, the notion of the Good, the Beautiful and the True, that is planted in the heart, the consciousness of a man, by his focus upon the things of God as a man seeking more. Here, planted in the conscious Life of a man it begins to grow and, with proper and enduring focus, it grows larger that ALL things and not to itself but to Love for ALL as symbolized in the lodging of the birds of the air.
We have pointed to another parabolic saying by the Master in a recent post as another that can give us a better understanding of His intended reality regarding the Kingdom and our thoughts on the sexes. It is found in Jesus’ discussion with the Sadducees regarding the resurrection and we should try to see here that the reality is not so much about the resurrection as it is of what it represents to us in the Master’s words. He tells us: “And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him” (Luke 20:34-38) We should see in these words the following ideas which we must try to understand away from the doctrines that have heretofore interpreted them:
- In the words “But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead” we should see see the reality of the Kingdom of God and that the words that the Master is speaking are in reference to those Souls who have succeeded in bringing about that change in the Life of the body and the personality that qualifies him as being accounted worthy of the Kingdom. Here in the Master’s words we find the idea of the resurrection as being secondary in nature insofar as His answer to the Sadducees’ question. In a more complete picture we can premise that Jesus is speaking in regard to the total release from the cycle of Life and death which, from His words, can be seen to include the state of the afterlife as we defined it in the last post. To understand it this way we must try to see that in His words the resurrection is from the dead, as in the idea that one that is no longer in the form on the Earth, to the Kingdom of God and not necessarily from the death of the body to the Kingdom. Here we have a deepening of our understanding from our discourse on this matter which has premised that the consciousness will gravitate to the equivalent state that it functioned through as the personality during the Earth Life. There is also the possibility of a more complex meaning here as well from the perspective of the man in form earning this being accounted worthy; here then he is freed from this Life in form which can be seen as death for the Soul.
- We look next at the Master’s teaching here on marriage as He tells us that those that ARE- accounted worthy: “ neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection”. This should provide for us an understanding that there IS NO marriage in the Kingdom of God which is the realm of the Soul, the True man. This should also tell us that there ARE NO sexes and no need to carry on the relationships that one had in the Earth. We could surmise that with both parties willing there could be a continued relationship in the afterlife but this IS NOT heaven. Much of the church teaches the opposite of this, that the afterlife is the Kingdom of God and that one IS reunited with loved ones in the Kingdom but there is no scriptural support for these ideas. In Jesus’ saying above however we can find the opposite position which we take and, in the understanding of Life as a continuous process of successive incarnations, we can see the reality of our view that Earth relationships are just for the Earth and expire in the afterlife as a Soul prepares for his reincarnation. We can see here also that those Souls who have succeeded in being accounted worthy need not repeat the Earth experience again as the Master tells us that “Neither can they die any more” and we must see the reason that He gives us “for they are equal unto the angels” as an affirmation that there is some relationship between the idea of the angel and the Souls in the Kingdom.
- In the last part of this we should try to understand that the Master’s view on death in this context may not be the same as our doctrinal understanding but that it stretches forward to include the afterlife, it accounts for ALL life that is short of the Kingdom of God. He tells us that “Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him”. Understanding that the patriarchs of the the Jews ARE among those accounted worthy of the Kingdom in their time and place we see here that they ARE resurrected and that they are therefore resurrected IN the Kingdom of God. Moreover, we see also that they are considered by the Master as living in whatsoever state that they might be and this we take from the last part of this saying telling us that “all live unto him“.
While some of our interpretation of these points is a bit muddy and there is no real clarity in the Masters rather parabolic words, we should try to see the woven threads of Truth as they emerge from His words in the Light of day. We should understand as well that the pronouncements of doctrine concerning these matters is not nearly so clear; however, to see and understand our perspective on these things one must first see the reality of the True man as the Soul, the criteria that the Master places upon discipleship and upon one’s attaining of the Kingdom, and the fundamental truths found in the right discernment of the continuous nature of Life through the process of rebirth.
Continuing on in our primary theme on the introduction of the Soul, the True man, to the female form on the Earth, we should see that we have set forth sufficient Truths from the words of the Master to establish that the form Life is not the True man and that the True man in the Inner Man, the consciousness that functions through the personality and this we take from the dual ideas that the “the kingdom of God is within you” and the Parable of the Mustard Seed which shows how this inner man as the seed of righteousness planted in the consciousness, can grow as the mustard seed grows, into the fullness of the tree that cares for and protects those around it. This is a growth that comes from one’s focus upon the things of God and the reality here is that the True man is this Soul and not this form that a man identifies with in Life on Earth. Understanding this we can then understand that reality and the possibilities that
exist in the taking to oneself a body as did Adam and Eve; both Souls in form, both neither male nor female as Souls, and both taking the responsibility to participate in the Life of the male and the female bodies and personalities on Earth. From the parabolic speaking of the Master to the Sadducees we find the reality of the Kingdom of God as that place where one can exist when one is accounted worthy of it and that in this state of being as a Soul who is BACK in the Kingdom consciously, there is no need for marriage which is our reality that there are no sexes and no marital relationships as those that were formed in the Earth. Here again we can glimpse our Truth that the Souls which are neither male nor female, or are both male and female combined, take to themselves the forms of the men and women as created from the dust of the ground, created as are all members of the animal kingdom.
Today’s essay brings us closer to the harder exposition regarding the Life of Adam and Eve; each of them Souls incarnated into the material bodies of the male and female human from. They are not those bodies as we are not ours and in this we see again our perspective and the point that we want to make before we proceed and this is that the idea of sex is but a physical manifestation and that the Soul, as he becomes more and more acclimated to Life in the world begins to lose his True reality in the illusion and the glamour, the vanity of the Apostle Paul. How long this takes we cannot say; we can only tell that from the the perspective of the story that it does happen and it does so in the story of the apple and the nakedness and the feelings of sorrow and shame brought on by the sensed duality as they KNOW what and who they are but this steadily gives way to the attractions of the senses. It is this same thing in opposite that each man who desires the Kingdom and discipleship must accomplish.
We will continue with our thoughts in the next post.
- Last we have the trees; “the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil“.

Note on the Quote of the Day
This daily blog also has a Quote of the Day which may not be in any way related to the essay. Many of these will be from the Bible and some just prayers or meditations that may have an influence on you and are in line with the subject matter of this blog. As the quote will change daily and will not store with the post, it is repeated in this section with the book reference and comment:
We repeat here again a saying that is from the Bhagavad Gita and which goes well with our topic over the last several days. Today we see the God Within us as the Christ Within and this is good in the Christian world and this is True based upon our understanding of the Christ as the manifestation of God. We should see that it matters not what we call this Inner Man as it is the same in ALL, it is the Soul.
Thou carriest within thee a sublime Friend whom thou knowest not. For God dwells in the inner part of every man, but few know how to find Him. The man who sacrifices his desires and his works to the Beings from whom the principles of everything stem, and by whom the Universe was formed, through this sacrifice attains perfection. For one who finds his happiness and joy within himself, and also his wisdom within himself is one with God. And, mark well, the soul which has found God is freed from rebirth and death, from old age and pain, and drinks the water of Immortality.—Bhagavad-Gita
It is difficult to tell just what verses of the Bhagavad Gita the above is from; whether it is a paraphrase or a combination. It is from the book “The Great Initiates” by Édouard Schuré which was originally published in French in 1889 and perhaps it is in the translation of the verses that they become hard to recognize. However, the sheer beauty of the presentation caught my attention and so I share it with you. The Path to the Kingdom is the same no matter what religion one professes.
