From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.
From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men–
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Realized after posting the last essay that we had neglected to change the Quote of the Day from the Great Invocation to the Affirmation of the Disciple and we have corrected this. Having posted both together for the last several days could give us the better understanding of the idea of invocation as although the one IS called an affirmation, it too can be seen as an invocation; it is a positive reinforcement if you will of these same ideas that are found in the Great Invocation above. The difference here is that in the one we are asking for that Light, Love and Power and in the other we are affirming that we have them and for what purpose. We should note here that both of these mantrams ARE the same from the perspective that we use them to assist our consciousness, our Soul awareness, to gain and to use ever greater Light, Love and Power in service to the world. And from this perspective, in order for success in this service, one must first have these spiritual qualities of Light, Love and Power at work in his own Life and this is of course by degree. Here we equate consciousness with Soul awareness and we may have never used this idea before in our essays; we should add here then that when the focus of one’s Life changes from the things of the world to the things of God, in this Repentance if you will, the consciousness takes on more and more of that awareness of the spiritual and of one’s own Soul. This IS the change that IS wrought in that change of focus as the thoughts, attitudes and actions become more and more from the Soul than from the world and from the lower self in the world. We KNOW from experience the duality, and the early confusion as these changes are taking place, and it is in these mantrams and others like them that we can find some assistance to stabilize and to advance the new patterns of thoughts, attitudes and actions as they take effect upon a man’s Life in the world…..as he adjusts to the ever increasing Light of the Soul.
We closed the last essay with another selection from the Apostle Paul’s Epistle to the Romans and our comments on the depth of understanding that we will find in His words. As we said in the last post, much of these words from the apostle are lost in the assumed references to homosexual behavior, references that have created a cottage community within the church of many who come out strongly against this ‘sin’ and make of it a sort of platform in their doctrinal views. We should remember that the Master nary mentions this nor another Christian peeve which is abortion and while these things may be wrong in a spiritual sense, they are no more wrong than any other such behaviors. From a spiritual perspective it likely matters not whether one is ‘fornicating’ with the opposite sex or with the same sex or even in what we would consider lewd combinations of these; what matters spiritually is that the focus of the Life IS on the things of the flesh, the affections and the lusts, the wants and the desires. It is this that must be changed and, as we understand these things, this carnal focus stretches far beyond the sexual and into virtually every field of human endeavor. This is of course in our parlance the sin….it is the focus upon the things of the world and in this the words of the Master are ever clear. That there may be degree of sin is granted and that there may be gross sins that harm others is a fact but sin in and of itself IS that focus upon the things of the world instead of upon the things of God. We should note here that our perspective is from a spiritual level, the level of Truth, looking down or out at the world; if however one is looking at these things as a man in the world and for whom the world is yet the primary focus, then one can and will believe that sin is those things that others do as men, especially men in the church, are blinded by the glamour and the illusion that tells themselves that they are right. This is an extremely difficult obstacle to overcome.
In this idea of looking at others as the sinners and minimizing one’s own sins is found the misunderstanding by the world at large of just what sin IS and this then fuels the further misunderstanding of the True intent of the Master’s words which are not to make one’s Life in the world comfortable but rather to make of ALL men disciples and to prepare ALL to be accounted worthy of the Kingdom. This misunderstanding IS the effect of illusion and glamour and this IS covered for us by the apostle in those words that we will get to shortly. Our further understanding of the dynamic that we are presenting is seen in the much hypocritical focus of many groups of men on the presumed sins of others and again these ideas of homosexuality and abortion plan a large role especially here in America where more is done to disparage and stop those who may harbor these ideas than to correct the wrongs in one’s own Life and in this regard the mere disparaging and the at times ardent attempts to alter other’s lives should be considered among those wrongs as these are themselves sins. The Master tells us that we should not judge and he tells His disciples and close followers that they should judge righteously and in these ideas there is much that can be accomplished by the man in the world. The Master tells us this on judging:
- “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye” (Matthew 7:1-5). While it is commonly thought that it is this judgement with which one will be judged, for his judgement of others, is from God but this is not necessarily True. When we look at this in the reality of Life, that it is the Soul that IS divine and that IS the True man, we should be able to gain a greater understanding of what the Master is telling us. From our perspective we see that this judgement that we would face is of our own Souls who say yea or nay in accordance with the actions that a man takes in the world, it is our own Soul that must step back and address yet another area of carnal Life that must be corrected. We should add here as well that when a man is ‘judgmental’, especially when he is overly critical of things that others do, that this sets for him a mental and emotional environment , an aura if you will, that can and does attract the judgement of others and, if for nothing else, against one’s own judgement of others. We should note that the Master ties this teaching here to His teaching on the hypocritical nature of how one should act in regards to the assumed wrongs of others. Here in this profound saying we learn that we should NOT look judgmentally nor disparagingly at the thoughts, attitudes and actions of others when we ourselves have any sin in our own lives and here of course we mean sin as the tendency of the man in the world to focus upon himself and the things of the world. We should look at this in such a way that if we are in this world, it is likely that we are in some way focused upon the world and therefore in sin ourselves, and this even as aspirants and disciples up to that point of perfection; the message then is that we should not even see the faults of others judgmentally or disparagingly. We should remember that we are looking at the lives of others who are trapped by the illusion and the glamour to which the world is subjected by the Plan of God; others who are lost as we ALL once were or still are. The Buddha has this to say on a similar subject and from this we can take some guidance if we can look at it in a broader way than just on teaching:
- “Love yourself and watch –
Today, tomorrow, always.
First establish yourself in the way,
Then teach,
And so defeat sorrow.
To straighten the crooked
You must first do a harder thing –
Straighten yourself.
You are your only master.
Who else?
Subdue yourself,
And discover your master” (Dhammapada, On Yourself)
- “Love yourself and watch –
- “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:37-38). This is a similar saying to what we have above and one that is used in many churches as a saying that has to do with others giving to them carnal things in retribution to one’s own giving and this is often tied to sermons on tithing. The reality here is that the idea of “good measure” is misplaced as the Truth is that while this may happen as some perceive, it is not a rule or a law but rather just the good nature of others. For us the greater reality is a law and a rule that works out in Life from the perspective of what precedes these words insofar as judgment, condemnation and forgiveness. Above we relate the idea that it IS one’s own Soul that will do this judgement of the Life of the man who judges and so forth with the ideas of condemnation and forgiveness and we should note here our premise that it IS our own Souls that dictate where and when a man in form has achieved anything and this both in this Life and in death; it is the Soul that dictates, according to the Law, what position he can and will take in the afterlife and in the Kingdom and we should try to understand this from the perspective that the Soul IS as the Christ; the Soul does nothing merely for his own advantage. Returning to this idea then of giving which we should see a bit differently because this saying clearly tells us that it is from men that one will receive. However, this can be better understood from our perspective in accordance with what else we had to say above regarding judgment, that when a man is ‘judgmental’ or he condemns or forgives or gives, that this sets for him a mental and emotional environment, an aura if you will, that can and does attract the judgement, the condemnation, the forgiveness and the giving of others. We can also see here that this idea of giving can be seen in relation to judgment, condemnation and forgiveness though the text seems to fall greater on the forgiveness and perhaps other positive offerings insofar as the ‘rewards’ are concerned. Thus if we forgive and we Love and we trust, we will receive in kind and this based upon our premise above.
As we can see here this is not an easy subject to deal with as we are limited by words and most of what we are saying here is quite different that established doctrine and common understanding. At the same time we must understand that there are no pearly gates and there is no Saint Peter at the door and at the same time we should try to see that there is no judgment as we understand this word. From the perspective of the Soul there is a sense of accomplishment or not as regards the Life in form; the Soul KNOWS and understands the objective and the goal and by his prompting tries to get the form nature to see this as more important and more pertinent that his focus upon the self and the world. It is difficult to understand and to state how this all works out in the Life of a man in form and it becomes more difficult as the nature of the conversation can have a reaction of rejection from the consciousness that is living through the form. Consider this in the same light that we see the plight of the Pharisees; they are in the world and believing that they are doing right and that they are right. When the greater right, the Christ, appears and does things that are so apparently within this greater right, they are rejected as is the Christ because the carnal personality cannot or will not accept that greater right in their lives. So the consciousness sees and feels the greater glory of the spiritual way through the promptings of the Soul and yet while KNOWING the right course, the personality is still able to keep the consciousness focused upon the self and the world. The Soul here does not judge the actions of the personality that continues in the sin of focus upon the world of things and the self and this regardless of the severity of such focus, but rather continues to try to get the attention of the consciousness that is thus far still following the deluded ways of the personality. In the end, at the end of one’s Earth Life, the idea of judgment is more that of the law, that according to what one did in Earth Life, so will be his continuing afterlife or, if one has achieved the Kingdom, his place therein.
We will continue with our thoughts in the next post and continue with these other points on judgement that we did not get to today as well as our words from Paul which we include here again:
- “And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?” (Luke 12:54-57).
- “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment” (John 7:7).
- “Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me” (John 8:15-16).xxxxxxxxxxxx”For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son” (John 5:22).
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things” (Romans 1:18-23).

Note on the Quote of the Day
This daily blog also has a Quote of the Day which may not be in any way related to the essay. Many of these will be from the Bible and some just prayers or meditations that may have an influence on you and are in line with the subject matter of this blog. As the quote will change daily and will not store with the post, it is repeated in this section with the book reference and comment.
We are again at a time of year that includes the three Spiritual Festivals which are yet largely unrecognized by the Christian churches except for the one that recently past called Easter. We know about these festivals through the teaching and the efforts of the Master’s of the Wisdom who we should see as advanced disciples of the Christ, a group which may yet include those Souls that appeared with the Master as His Apostles, disciples and others who aided and assisted in His Great Mission such as the Baptist and His natural mother Mary. Each of these festivals is celebrated at a Full Moon and the cycle begins with Easter which is celebrated on the Sunday following the first Full Moon of Spring. At the Full Moon of May, which occurs on the 5th day of the month, is the Wesak Festival which is the Festival of the Buddha and at the Full Moon of June, which will occur on the 4th of June, is the Christ Festival also known today as World Invocation Day. As we progress toward the Wesak Festival we will post Quote’s of the Day that are, in our view, conducive to the view of the Buddha and the Christ as regards the spreading of Love and GoodWill throughout the world; we begin with the Affirmation of the Disciple.
I am a point of light within a greater Light.
I am a strand of loving energy within the stream of Love divine.
I am a point of sacrificial Fire, focused within the fiery Will of God.
And thus I stand
I am a way by which men may achieve.
I am a source of strength, enabling them to stand.
I am a beam of light, shining upon their way.
And thus I stand.
And standing thus, revolve
And tread this way the ways of men,
And know the ways of God.
And thus I stand.
We repeat again what we had previously said of this Mantram:
Today’s Quote of the Day is called the Affirmation of the Disciple and is spoken from the perspective of the Soul and not from that of the man in form. It is the Soul that we are in this life on Earth, housed in this ‘temple’ of flesh and it is the Light of the Soul that must flow through this ‘temple’ in order that we may say with the Christ “I have overcome the world“ (John 16:33) which is our goal and our destiny. Speaking then as the Soul we affirm our reality and true existence in God and in His Three Aspects of Light and Love and His Will. As this Light and Love and Will flow through our conscious personalities and forms we, as disciples, take on the nature of the second stanza being able to offer to the world a better way through our service and our Love for all, encouragement to righteousness through our strength of purpose, and the Light which shines in accordance with the Master’s instructions to “Let your light so shine before men” (Matthew 5:16) and illuminates the Path. Finally we realize that we are standing in this world and walking as men but, as conscious Souls in form, we know the way and the ways of God and are able to say with the Christ that “I am not of this world” (John 8:23).
