Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as  other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart” (Ephesians 4:13-18).

As we think about the ideas that we have put forth over the last few days regarding our Life here in this Earth and our True Life as the Soul, the Inner Man, or the Christ and God Within, ALL of which ARE synonymous terms, we should look again at the nature of our chart below as the correspondences listed can help us to understand both our reality and the reality of that Boundless, Immutable, Eternal and Infinite Existence that we call God. Nothing in this chart represents the body and the personality of our Life in form in this Earth nor, in the case of God the physical presence of the body of Jesus nor any other avatar of Light in physical presence; this chart is of the Spiritual Aspects of God and Man ONLY and we should at the same time see here that these divisions are man made divisions that represent the Potencies of the ONE God in such a way that He can be discussed within the limitations of language. Granted that these ideas are put forth by the Master but we should understand that He does so without explanation and as a way to differentiate the Father from the Son for our understanding while at the same time telling us that “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30) and giving us numerous sayingS that pertain to the ONENESS of us ALL as we have been recently discussing; sayings such as:

  • That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me” (John 17:21).
  • At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you” (John 14:20).
  • Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works” (John 14:10).

There is much power in these words of acclamation that the Father and the Son and even the disciple can be ONE but this power IS lost in the interpretations of doctrine, interpretations that center on human thoughts and feelings and not that Wisdom from above. From a human perspective these things ARE incomprehensible except one has the Light of his own Soul working out to some degree in his Life in the world and we should understand that they are intentionally incomprehensible in much the same way as the reality of moving the mountain. For this we MUST believe without doubt that this can be done and that it can be done in the power of MY Life. This believing, this faith which we understand as the fullness of KNOWING is required to move the mountain and it IS in this example that we should see our ability to understand the incomprehensible. The Master makes this clearer for us in addressing the Apostle Peter who, in our understanding, is left in the gospels and in the Book of Acts as our ready example of the growing divinity of the man in the world who IS focused upon the Lord. In Peter we see the trials and the tribulations of duality and the reality that even as he is so far beyond the average man spiritually, the Master still sees the need for him to go further, to focus harder on the things of God. In this exchange between the Master and the apostle: “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou , Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 16:15-17) we can see that the source of this revelation, this understanding, this Wisdom, IS from above and not from the carnal mind. And it is here that we draw our understanding which is that the measure of revelation that one may receive is directly dependent upon the degree of focus which provides a similar degree of the Light of the Soul.

So then our ability to comprehend these ideas regarding the ONENESS of the Father, the Son and the disciple can then be seen to be in line with our focus upon the things of God but we should understand that there is more here that must be acknowledged as regards the form of this focus and the ‘relative percentage’ if you will of one’s total focus that IS NO longer on the things of the self and the self in the world. For example, we are focused on this blog and our posts for a certain amount of the day and this IS good but what are we focused upon the rest of the time? If our focus is upon the self and the self in the world then we are detracting so to speak from our focus on God. So also the form of one’s focus; is our focus on the Truth in Love as the Master teaches us or is it on some separatist doctrine that we adhere to? The latter should likely be seen as not focused upon the things of God at all but this of course would not be the perception of the one involved in this way. In a simple phrase is the greater reality f what we are trying to say and that phrase IS that we keep His words; it is in doing this that we can see the fruit of one’s focus if we can say it this way. It IS in keeping His words that the percentages will change to greater and greater focus upon the things of God and it IS in keeping His words that the form of one’s focus will change from the doctrinal to the Truth as it IS ONLY in keeping His words that we grow spiritually in this Life in form. And these ideas must be see as going together hand in hand for it IS as one begins to keep His words that one’s focus changes from the things of the world to the things of God and it by such focus that one is better able to keep His words. This is of course a statement on our journey from Repentance to Transfiguration as the Light, the Love and the Power of the Soul grow in their intensity in the Life of the man in the world. And, this is the Truth of the Parable of the Mustard Seed that tells us clearly of the growth of the Kingdom in the Life of the man which, in the Master’s words says: “The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:  Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof” (Matthew 13:31-32).

As we say here above and in the last several posts as well, the intensity of revelation, the depth of it if you will, is directly dependent upon our focus and our focus is directly dependent upon keeping His words and these things are for each man to measure in his own Life. And, this IS how we see Life and how we see the working out of the Life of the True man in the world of form and the reality of it ALL is that none of what we are saying regarding the inner workings of Life and of God’s Plan really matters insofar as one’s spiritual advancement; what matters is simply that a man keep His words, ALL of them, as in so doing each will receive his own measure of revelation in accordance with his own particular degree of aspiration leading to discipleship. We should remember here this also; it ALL begins with Love. It IS Love that the Master elevates to the ranking of the Greatest Commandment and thereby to the chiefest part of keeping His words and, no matter what one may believe, Love IS the Way par excellence to begin one’s True journey and we could say that LOVE IS THE ONLY WAY. This is to say that no matter where one may believe that he stands from a spiritual perspective, if he is not living his Life as an expression of that Love that the Master teaches us, he is largely mistaken and this IS made abundantly clear in the words of the Apostle Paul that we have been carrying below as our Quote of the Day.

If then none of this matters, none of our essays on the constitution of man or the True realities of the creation of man, then why do we continue in this? For the benefit of the seeker, for the benefit of the man who wants to KNOW more but can not find sources that can relate the realities of the ancient Wisdom to the words of the Master and to show that within the words of the Master and His apostles most ALL of these realities can be found. And our point here should be clear, to study the constitution of man and understand the nature of God IS OF NO USE to a man if he does not keep His words and this is the same reality that entombs the doctrines of the Churches that do not teach and show by their example this need to keep His words which, as we say above, begins with Love. And this should be seen as the overriding purpose of our writing; from the ‘about us’ tab our purpose is noted as: New Age Developments is a site and a blog dedicated to the Truth, to World Goodwill and to the establishment of Right Human Relations. It is an attempt to put forth in a cogent manner the FACT of the One Humanity living in this One World and thereby the necessity of a belief in the ONE GOD in whom, as the Apostle tells us. “we Live and Move and Have our Being”. These things we try to do in each and every post as we bring to Light our unique perspective on the Life and the words of the Master and of His apostles and the reality of Truly realizing our ‘salvation’ as opposed to the archaic teachings of doctrine which, while important to many in the world who CAN NOT yet see the greater Truths, are insufficient for the seeker and the enquirer today. So we write nearly every day and seldom with a plan or an agenda as we rely on revelation to bring us from topic to topic and hence the sometimes haphazard way that we deal with subjects.

So we teach here the constitution of man and of God and the Truth that we ARE NOT this form and this personality in the world and we try to relate what we say to the words of the Master and His apostles and an ultimate Truth from the perspective of the man in form; “the Kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21). It is here that we must come face to face with our own reality; that this conscience that prompts us to the Good, the Beautiful and the True is from the Soul and while it may be somewhat clouded by the illusion and the glamour of the Life of the personality in the world, it IS our impetus to greater realizations and revelations and we should note that for much of the Life of any individual this prompting goes on without any knowledge or understanding of what it Truly IS and it is likely for this reason that it IS ever so easy to ignore it. There does come a time in one’s Life where this dynamic is realized and for so many there is no ready aid to understand it nor to pursue it; for many there is the lure of alternative teachings or the lure of the comfort of the religious way that they may KNOW. And this is for the most part good as it sets a man upon a path away from the strict reliance on the self in the world and perhaps some progress is made but, the greater good is in finding a Way that teaches the Truth of the Master’s words and the clarifying and amplifying nature of the words of His apostles; and this Truth IS LOVE, this Truth IS GoodWill, this Truth IS Right Human Relations and these three are, perhaps in different words and style, the essence of the teachings of the Ages which are harmonized and canonized for us in the words of the New Testament.

As we often say, there is great clarity in much of the Master’s words; a clarity that is unrealized in the unwillingness of men over the centuries, both in and out of the churches, to take them to heart and to realize that His words, and they alone, could cure and solve ALL of the problems of the world. And this is another part of the ideas that we wish always to impart, that it is in the natural effects of the illusion and the glamour that men get lost and confounded and through which many come to believe that they have the answers and that they have the right approach and in this believing history teaches no lessons or, these lessons are so obnubilated by these natural effects of Life in the world, that it IS as though history DOES NOT exist. In a definition attributed to Albert Einstein, who we consider as a man who without religion touched the realities of Life through his focus upon the things of God and the God Within thereby releasing into his Life his measure of revelation, we find this defining of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. This nature of Life in the world enmeshed in the illusion and the glamour is the Master’s subject when He says, quoting the Old Testament words of the Prophet Isaiah and adding His own comments as He speaks to His disciples about those who ARE NOT:

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear” (Matthew 13:13-16).

Note on the Quote of the Day

This daily blog also has a Quote of the Day which may not be in any way related to the essay. Many of these will be from the Bible and some just prayers or meditations that may have an influence on you and are in line with the subject matter of this blog. As the quote will change daily and will not store with the post, it is repeated in this section with the book reference and comment.

Staying on the theme of Love we repeat again the sayings of the Apostle Paul that put this Love into perspective.

But earnestly desire the best gifts.
And yet I show you a more excellent way.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love,
I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy,
and understand all mysteries and all knowledge,
and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor,
and though I give my body to be burned,
but have not love, it profits me nothing.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 12:31, 13:1-13
(New King James Version)

Regardless of our daily theme, the underlying theme of our posts and of this entire blog is Love. In these words from Paul we should be able to see the overriding importance of Love in the Life of each of us. This is a common theme throughout the gospels and the other writings of the apostles and a theme that is not nearly understood. In our theme today regarding Paul’s writings to the Romans and in the previous discussions on them we seek to impart the better understanding of the reality of Life, the Life of the True man as the Christ Within, the Soul, as it is from this perspective that we can gain that revelation of Truth and, as Paul says above, be free from the condemnation and the vanity of Life in form, free from the illusion and the glamour. We repeat here what we said about these verses in a prior post:

Today’s Quote of the Day from the Apostle Paul is his testimony to the power of Love. After speaking at length about the gifts of the Spirit that one should desire in order to be of service to the Lord, he says plainly that Love is a more excellent way. Love in the context of these verses is not the sentimental or affectionate kind that we ordinarily think of but rather benevolence, good will; that disposition of heart which inclines men to think favorably of their fellow men, and to do them good. In a theological sense, it includes supreme love to God, and universal good will to men. This defining of Love is covered in some depth in a previous post; In the Words of Jesus part 47.

Let the peace of God rule in your hearts!
